This version of "Theory and History of Ontology" can also be downloaded as an ebook that can be read offline, stored on a pen drive, sent to a friend by e-mail, etc.
Pages can be read in sequence, starting from the beginning or end of the website, or by consulting the table of contents at the beginning (menu "Contents"), the detailed indexes at the end (menu "Last"), or the chapter index (menu "Section"); a "Search" option is also available.
I will update the e-book every time that the main website will change: see the page "What's New on This Site" for the more recent updates.
The e-book version does not contain the Essays in PDF format (that can be downloaded separately: see the Index of PDF Essays) and the external links that are available on the main version.
Theory and History of Ontology, created April 13, 2000 at the address www.formalontology.it, moved August 13th 2010 to a new address: www.ontology.co; a mobile version (with a different menu) is available when the screen resolution is less than 480 x 500 pixels.
The site contains more than 15,000 bibliographic references; it is best viewed with a recent version of one of the following browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Maxthon, Opera, Safari, UC Browser.
There are also sections, currently under development, for Italian and French readers (see Pages in Language other than English), that will contain bibliographical information and references to works published in these languages.
The site is available in five different location (the content is identical):
For readers with old browsers another website with an easier menu is available:
Please note that only Internet Explorer version 11 is supported by Microsoft after January 12, 2016 (see "Stay up-to-date with Internet Explorer").
I created these websites to ensure to my readers the best performance and accessibility everywhere in the world.
If you want to cite or link a page of my site please use the main addresswww.ontology.co because the mirror sites will not be indexed by the Search Engines to avoid duplicated content.
